Is a Healthy Work-Life Balance on New Year's Resolution List? Learn How Starting A Business in 2

What is your New Year’s resolution? Is alleviating stress on your list? This can be done in a number of ways but tends to be based on a healthy work-life balance. It’s great to commit to going to the gym 7 days a week, or becoming actively involved in the community.

However, too often time is limited. I know of people who work 9 to 10 hours a day. How can they possibly have a healthy work-life balance? I always encourage positivity, exercise, reading, and counseling, pretty much what everyone had heard before. One of my favorite things to do is encourage clients to commit to launching their own business venture.

Popular magazines like Forbes, Fortune and Entrepreneur note the rise in self-employment. I often wonder what keeps people from making this jump. I did it, and yes I had a lot of fears. I still do as a matter of fact, but I cannot let that hold me back.

Ask yourself if you are happy at work? If the answer is no, assess why? Is the reason something you can change? Does it require you to change someone else? Are you simply bored or distracted? Narrow down exactly what the issue is, and then decide whether you can overcome it.

I encourage people to make the leap to self-employment. I will also be the first to say it's not for everyone. There are a lot of concerns and risks, but the reward is priceless.

Our law office assists clients with these decisions during a business strategy meeting. We sit and discuss your current situation and future goals. Clients better understand that is required to start a business and work with our office to guide them through the legal aspects.
